From one daughter of a narcissistic mother to another

After 53 years inside maternal narcissistic abuse and 5 years of self-healing, I wrote the guide I wish I had been able to read after my covert narcissistic mother died. I wasn't prepared for the aftermath.

As the author of Talking to the Light, I created this resource to offer honest words, lived perspective, and a little more understanding for daughters trying to make sense of an experience no one seems to talk about.

About

I spent 53 years inside maternal narcissistic abuse and the last 5 years healing, understanding, and writing about what that life did to me.

My work is rooted in lived experience, not theory, and also includes Talking to the Light, my 3-volume spiritual answers project born from my search to understand why my mother was the way she was and why she abused me.

I lived it, I asked the other side the hardest questions about maternal narcissistic abuse, healing, forgiveness, moving on in life, and more.

Now I speak from how those answers transformed me.

I don’t just tell this story—I know how to translate it into truth, language, transformation, and meaning.

Is this guide only for daughters whose mother has already died?

No. This guide was also written for daughters whose mother is dying, aging, declining, or whose death feels close enough to prepare for now.

It's for therapists and coaches who support daughter like us, as well.

Is this a grief guide?

Not in the traditional sense. This is not a generic grief guide built on the assumption that the mother who died was loving. It is a lived-experience guide for daughters of narcissistic mothers.

Is this based on your personal experience?

Yes. This PDF is based on my lived experience after my covert narcissistic mother died and what I wish I had understood sooner.

Is this therapy?

No. This guide is not therapy and does not replace therapy. It is lived experience written as honestly as I can write it for daughters who need language, validation, and a more truthful frame for an experience that is rarely spoken about clearly.

Will this tell me exactly what I will feel after my mother dies?

No. This guide is based on my lived experience, not a prediction of what anyone else will feel. Its purpose is to offer honest language and perspective for an experience that can be far more complicated than people expect.

How will I receive the guide?

You’ll receive it in PDF format instantly on the receipt page after purchase and by email.

Did you use AI to write this guide?

I don’t enjoy reading AI generated content.

In fact, I avoid reading anything written with that telling ChatGPT voice. I’m sure you know what I mean.

That said, here’s my AI transparency note:

-I used AI to assist with my antiquated writing. Turns out the writing I learned in 10th grade honors English back in 1983 is outdated (old Mrs. Otey would be disappointed).

-I used AI to help me through writing the sections that are based on intense lived experiences that were too difficult to write. I rewrote what was generated by ChatGPT into my own voice. Writing through tears is challenging, to say the least.

-The voice and story are mine and are rooted 100% in lived experience.

Are you a grief counselor?

Nope. I’m just a girl who was completely unprepared for the dramatic, chaotic impact of her narcissistic mother’s death.
